Prolific COM Port connection

Long story short: I have an Astro-photography (AP) telescope and mount that I want to control using the PICO.  To do so my AP software needs to talk to the mount via an Ascom driver titled Commander through a COM port using a PROLIFIC driver.  My HP (Win10) laptop talks to my AP software via Commander without problems.  When I try to connect the PICO to the mount it fails to establish the AP link through Commander.  The only difference between the Laptop and the Pico configurations is the version number of the Prolific driver (5.1.4.0 vs 5.2.3.0 respectively).  I cannot transfer the laptop's configuration to the PICO due to the Windows Trusted Installer function.  Any suggestions on how to get around the Trusted Installer are appreciated.
